DESCRIPTION:Status of Coal Tar Pitch, high temperature (CTPht) as an intermediate in the manufacture of carbon and graphite products. It is softening point 120-130°C

Crude Coal Tar received from byproduct coke oven plants is heated to temperatures up to 400oC in specially designed distillation stills. This removes moisture, Naphthalene, Light Creosote Oil and Heavy Creosote Oil from the Coal Tar. The resultant product is called Coal Tar Pitch. Depending on the blend of Crude Coal Tar and the temperatures to which the distillation is carried out different grades of Coal Tar Pitch are produced.

Hydrogenation of high-temperature coal tar to fuel oil is more difficult than that of medium-low temperature coal tar. According to the traditional processing technology, various fractions of high-temperature coal tar can be further processed to separate a variety of chemical products
